Document Certification Requirements
All scanned copies of Certificates and Academic Transcripts (including detailed course topics) must be certified as true copies of the original.
Who can certify documents in Australia?
Under the Statutory Declarations Regulations 2018, authorised witnesses include:
- Justice of the Peace (JP)
- Legal practitioners (Solicitors or Barristers)
- Health Practitioners: General Practitioners, Pharmacists, or Nurses
- Police Officers
- Permanent employees of Australia Post (with 5 or more years of continuous service)
- Bank Managers or Financial Officers (with 5 or more years of continuous service)
Note: The certifier must sight the original document and the copy, then sign and stamp the copy with their full name, profession, and registration number (if applicable).
