Why We Exist

Surveyors Australia exists because surveyors need a dedicated national body, not distracted, not divided, not diluted by competing agendas. We:

• Provide certainty and continuity in representing surveyors nationally.
• Advocate for fair recognition, funding, and policies that support the profession.
• Strengthen education pathways and workforce development to close the skills gap.
• Elevate professional standards through certification and recognition.
• Unite surveyors into one strong, respected national voice.

12 Months of Progress

In the past year, we have shown what a national association, working in unity, can deliver:

• Education & Pathways: Three new Certificate IV and Diploma cohorts launched.
• Data & Insights: Released the 2025 Salary Survey (1 July) and Hourly Rate Survey, strengthening our advocacy with evidence.
• Professional Recognition: Rolled out the Certification Program for Engineering Surveyors.
• Advocacy: Consistently represented members on Free TAFE reforms, RTO funding, unfair contract laws, and the vital role surveyors play in infrastructure, housing, and economic growth.
• Events: Across Australia, we have seen our State Partners deliver more than 80 events, ensuring excellence in technical and business outcomes.

 

The Work Ahead

Surveyors Australia is focused on what matters most:

• Expanding access to education, especially in under-served regions.
• Modernising workforce classifications so all surveyors are properly recognised and funded.
• Building clear school-to-career and apprentice-to-leader pathways.
• Strengthening professional recognition through certification.
• Engaging with AI and automation, without losing the human expertise that defines our profession.

Now, more than ever, membership matters. In a changing landscape, Surveyors Australia is the steady and trusted voice for surveyors across the nation.

This past year we’ve been out representing members right across Australia, visiting every state and territory, running events, creating spaces for networking, listening to you, and making sure your concerns are brought to the national table.

Being a member means you’re investing in a strong future, a future where surveyors are recognised, valued, and leading Australia’s growth.
