For many Surveyors, particularly in Victoria, this is a step forward in ensuring that there will be less disruption from some union delegates, who have engaged in stand-over tactics and kept Surveyors from completing their work on site.

For Industry, if we can see lasting change, builds will be faster and safer and costs will not be escalated. The free market will allow for appropriately qualified and experienced professionals to be chosen for major infrastructure and building projects.

Surveyors Australia believes there is still the need for an Independent Regulator.
