Winning the Small Firm category, Rivland Surveyors in Wagga Wagga, were awarded for their all-round professionalism and ongoing training.

Earl James and Associates were Highly Commended for their commitment to the surveying profession and for supporting workers in remote areas.

Also highly commended were Reeds Consulting, for their professionalism to a strong and diverse range of clients and projects.

Tamworth’s Hanlons Consulting took home the award for a Medium Firm. They were recognised for outstanding commitment to the profession, team development and increasing surveyor student numbers.

The Large Firm Category winner was Sydney’s SDG, who won that category for the third year in a row! SDG was acknowledged for going above and beyond for their profession, with a strong commitment to employee training and wellbeing.

Final congratulations go to the teams nationally at Veris, for their win in the National Firm Category. They were recognised for their investment in programs to promote careers in surveying and implementing an Indigenous Surveyor Employment Pathway Program.

Consulting Surveyors National recently held its Annual Congress in beautiful Port Douglas. The highlight of the programme was the Excellence in Consultancy Awards.
The Awards recognise the peak surveying consultancies in Australia (i.e. consultancies achieving the highest level of excellence in delivery of surveying services and business operations). The awards are open to any Australian businesses that are land surveying consultancies or multi-disciplinary businesses with a substantial land surveying business unit.
Congratulations to the following winners:

The Medium Consultancy category was won by Parker Scanlon, with Mark Scanlon there to pick up the Award.

The Large Consultancy was taken out by SGD, with Craig Turner and Andrew Geddes the recipients.

INTRAX was the winner of the National Consultancy award and Alex Symonds accepted the award.
With a number of entries submitted into the awards process and with the incredibly high calibre of entries, a Highly Commended Certificate was also awarded for the following category:

In the Large Consultancy Category, Craig & Rhodes received a Highly Commended Certificate, with Andrew Halmarick, Managing Director, accepting the award.
The Awards were a fantastic way to be recognised by peers in the profession and an independent business expert. Applications demonstrated a high level of commitment to service delivery and business operations, encompassing such factors as company culture, community involvement, re-generation of the profession, professional involvement, training commitment and responsibility as a corporate citizen. Congratulations to the winners and we look forward to even more entrants next year!
After delays due to lockdowns, Consulting Surveyors National was thrilled to present the National Surveying Consultancy Excellence Awards on Friday evening, 1st October 2021.
The awards ceremony held online and hosted by Australia's best impersonator, Ben Price, acknowledged the business acumen and excellence in surveying consultancies from across Australia.
It brought the profession together to celebrate during another challenging chapter for many people, both personally and professionally.

RDM is a multi-disciplinary consultancy comprising surveyors, project managers, town planners, engineers and environmental managers offering a comprehensive range of consulting services to (and beyond) its region of Coffs Harbour. The company has a strong commitment to investing in its staff, with a key strategic objective to develop the talent within the company. The business has demonstrated strong commitment and support to its industry and local community. In responding to the impact of Covid-19, RDM demonstrated a highly professional approach and in adapting to the resultant changes to normal work practices. It also strengthened its resilience to change.

Parker Scanlon, based in Newcastle considers itself a "People Business", with its success being built on highly proficient staff, supported by the highest standards in training and robust systems used across all aspects of the business. Parker Scanlon demonstrated a high level of staff training and development in a supportive work environment, with particular emphasis on mental health. Following external review of the company's business operation in late 2019 a complete overhaul of the company structure took place to enhance and further develop the business.

SDG is based in the Hills District of Sydney, previously a Consultancy Excellence award winner in the Medium Consultancy category SDG though its success has moved to the Large Consultancy category. It has again demonstrated strong and continuous excellence across the assessed areas of business vitality and culture, staff development, community involvement, support for young professionals and professional image. The company's response to Covid-19 incorporated a comprehensive COVID Strategic Plan focussed on three key areas being its team, its clients and its finances.

Beveridge Williams with 9 offices in Victoria, 3 in New South Wales and 1 in Queensland. Over the 60 years of its existence, Beveridge Williams has grown from a small surveying company based in the country Victoria to a multi-disciplined consultancy with over 300 staff, which is owned by its employees. Although a large scale company, Beveridge Williams presents as a family-minded, diverse, environmentally and socially conscious company which is committed to and supportive of its staff. Client satisfaction with the company is demonstrated by the results of an independent client survey which focuses on the key areas of customer focus - communication, quality of work, expertise, value for money, efficiency, accuracy, attention to details, trustworthiness, reliability and the spread of services.
Beveridge Williams has strong and demonstrated commitment in the areas of diversity, reconciliation, environmental consciousness and community involvement.

Nobelius Land Surveyors of Pakenham, Victoria, which demonstrated a high level of commitment in the areas of staff development and community engagement.
The consultancy also demonstrated successful business evolution through a generational change in management.

Wolter Consulting Group of Newstead (Brisbane), Queensland, which has a central ethos of delivering the highest level of service to its clients, incorporating values of respect, integrity, innovation, collaboration, excellence and trust.
The company's Women of Wolters (WOW) network demonstrates a strong commitment to diversity and empowering women.
The 2019 Surveying Consultancy Excellence Awards were presented at a Gala Awards Evening on Thursday 6th June at Customs House in Brisbane as part of the 2019 National Surveying Congress.

Divided into three categories by employee numbers, the winner of the Small Consultancy category was Australian Survey Solutions from Bowral in NSW. Paul Brandon and his wife Jane (centre) are extremely proud of the excellent team they have nurtured over the past nine years and the reputation they have created in their local area.

The winner of the Medium Consultancy Category was SDG Land Development Solutions (SDG) from Sydney in NSW. Craig Turner, Managing Director, and Gary Edwards, Director (pictured), proudly accepted the award on behalf of SDG, commenting that it's the commitment of their nearly 50 staff that has made this award possible.

For the second year in a row, the winner of the Large Consultancy Category was TAYLORS, which is based in Victoria and has offices in Brisbane, Perth, Auckland, Christchurch and Jakarta. Astounded by this second win, a number of key personnel from the TAYLORS team were in attendance to celebrate their achievement (pictured).

Proud joint winners in the Small Consultancy Category were form New South Wales. Tuggerah based Trehy Ingold Neate (now Beveridge Williams & CO.) and Resource Design & Management from Coffs Harbour. Both long-standing companies with a number of major projects in their portfolios, these two multidisciplinary organisations demonstrated a sophisticated level of commitment to qualify service delivery, development of staff, health and safety, training and business planning.
Taking out the prize in the Large Consultancy category was Taylors. Based in Victoria and with offices in Brisbane, Christchurc and Jakarta, Taylors is a multi-disiplinary development solution consultancy. It provides a host of services including Master Planning and Urban Planning, Surveying, GIS, Civil Engineering, Development Strategy an Project Management.
This organisation has been involved in number of large-scale, high-profile projects including the management of all surveying services for the Australia Grand Prix held last weekend in Melbourne.
The professionalism of Australia’s surveying industry was on full display at the National Surveying Consultancy Awards 2017, which took place on the evening of Friday 17 March. Held during the Surveying 2017 National congress, these inaugural awards were established to recognise the peak surveying consultancies across the nation. To acknowledge the efforts of consulting firms of all sizes, the awards were broken into two categories based on organizational size: Small Consultancies (15 employees or less) and Large Consultancies (greater than 15 employees).
Proud winner of the Small Consultancy Category was Tamworth based multi-disciplinary organisation, Mitchel Hanlon Consulting Pty Ltd. Established by Mitchel Hanlon in 2003, this company is committed to providing superior service to the Tamworth regional area, intrastate and across Australia.
The judging panel were impressed by the way in which Mitchel Hanlon, as the principal of the firm, demonstrated commitment to the profession through organisational involvement with industry and professional bodies. He is also committed to personal and company development through executive training, and implementation of a business management system that ensures quality outcomes for the client.

Taking out the prize for the Large Consultancy category was Beveridge Williams. Established in Victoria and now with offices across Victoria and New South Wales, Beveridge Williams is a multi-disciplinary development consultancy. They provide a host of services including surveying, civil engineering, traffic and transport engineering, town planning, landscape architecture and urban design.
The judging panel for the awards were impressed by the way Beveridge Williams demonstrated an extremely high level of service delivery, evidenced through an independent highly-complimentary client satisfaction feedback rating. It was noted that this company had also demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the re-generation of the profession through a well-developed graduate training program, and possessed a vibrant company culture which supports career development and staff retention.
