The Association of Consulting Surveyors NSW and Surveyors Australia are committed to advancing the standard of surveying and surveyors across Australia. To help build a highly skilled workforce and provide support to our member firms, we have designed a series of events to upskill surveyors from any skill level. Whether you are new to surveying, hold a Diploma or Degree or have been registered for many years, there are always skills to be learned, and passed on to the next generation of surveyors.

The Upskilling Program will provide regular session on a range of surveying topics. These short and detailed courses differ from CPD events, as they are technically focused on surveying specific skills, allowing for industry experts to educate new surveyors, and refresh topics in the minds of experienced surveyors.

Upskilling April: Designing for Water & Sewer

Our third course module 'Designing for Water & Sewer' is taking place online, featuring a 3-hour session with Brian Corregan and Steve Sampson.

Engineering Design is a significant portion of the Surveyor Registration process but it is an area that is constantly changing – both in the Sydney basin and the regions. 

During this 3 hour training session you will hear from two experts, both BOSSI Examiners in Engineering Design:

  • Steve Sampson, Certified Water Coordinator with Sydney Water, on the process required to deliver services for clients, working with Sydney Water.  Understand the current challenges, requirements for contractors, and the opportunities for surveyors.
  • Brian Corrigan, Engineer and Surveyor based in Port Macquarie (King + Campbell), on the process required by Hunter Water and other Regional council areas and how it differs from the requirements.  Understand the current challenges, requirements of local council and the opportunities for surveyors

Steve and Brian will take us through practical examples and case studies that will help upskill surveyors – both seeking registration and those who have been registered for many years!

This Upskilling course will take place online, and costs $150 (3-Tickets) for Members, and $300 for Non-Members. 3 SP points are available (NSW).
